God knows how many of these there are going to be between now and when the games released but yeah more impressions of mine about Sonic Unleashed. I just finished watching Gamespot’s press released thingie at the E3 for Unleashed and seeing the Werehog’s gameplay first hand I have to say I’m no longer worried (however it is Sonic Team we’re talking about here and I probably should be). The Werehog can run and is fast after all (though not as fast as Sonic but that’s to be expected). However seeing the gameplay I noticed there’s a lot of places where you just fall off to your death, ala Sonic Adveutre 2, Heroes, and of course Seceret Rings. I liked Sonic Adventure 2 except for the randomfalling to your death parts which came up more often than they probably should. In Heroes that’s all you do in some of the later levels (Frog Forest, Rail Canyon, etc) and in Secert Rings if you’re not falling to your death because you didnt move the Wiimote the right way or at the right time or angle or quick enough or slow enough or hard enough or light enough you’re being crushed, trampled, run off course, falling behind, or running into things. Yeah I have a lot of issues with Secert Rings can’t you tell? But bak to Unleashed. In the China level the Sonic Team representative fell to his death I believe twice. Twice. The representative from Sonic Team, the creators of the freaking game. You would think he would be able to not do that. That worries me…a lot. My Wiimote (or 360 controller if I get one by then) will probably end up in pieces on the floor or go through my televison when I attempt this level ha ha. Oh well they fixed the camera angles, they fixed the gameplay issues (seemingly), they’ve brought back speed, and they’ve put all the other random characters as NPCs, I guess they still need one annoyance to piss of their fans with. Oh well I’ll just have to deal with the falling randomly to my death part because I didn’t jump the right. I’ll probably end up getting so mad I won’t eat Chinese food for a month.
